A warm welcome to this World Creativity Summit website!
On behalf of the Presidential Council of the World Alliance for Arts Education, I am delighted to be able to share with you the aims, methodology and programme of our first World Creativity Summit and to introduce you to the distinguished innovators who have agreed to share their expertise to launch it.
This 2007 Summit is the fruit of nearly a decade of dialogue and cooperation between IDEA, InSEA and ISME – the three international organisations that make up the World Alliance – and of a creative collaboration with our first local partner – the Hong Kong Institute for Contemporary Culture – and our host, the Government of Hong Kong (SAR). It is inspiring further evidence of the emerging global recognition that we now must prioritise and nurture the creative and transformative potentials of every human being in the world if we are to protect and sustain the life and future of our planet.
It is for this reason that this Summit proposes an innovative methodology to respond to some of the key questions of our time. It’s ‘dialogic pedagogy’ draws on more than fifty years of accumulated knowledges within the World Alliance to ensure that the expertise of each participant can be heard, exchanged and integrated into practical and effective proposals. How else will we convince all sectors of civil society to participate in the implementation of paradigms appropriate to the needs of the 21st Century?
These paradigms will take time to develop. They will need courage, empathy, imagination and mutual support – the very qualities cultivated by effective arts education – to be tested and refined during the Summit and wherever human beings make their lives. We hope that you will draw on and contribute to this World Creativity Summit and to similar projects and networks by sharing your experience and views in the open forum in this site.

歡迎閣下瀏覽世界創意高峰會的網頁，我謹代表藝術教育世界聯盟主席會，很高興有機會在這裡能夠和大家分享我們首屆世界創意高峰會的目標、方法形式和節目內容，為您介紹一群行內的卓越革新者，他們將通過分享自己的專業經驗啟動高峰會。
今次2007年的高峰會是國際戲劇／劇場與教育聯盟（IDEA） 、國際藝術教育學會（InSEA）及國際音樂教育組織（ISME）- 組成藝術教育世界聯盟的三個國際機構的近十年合作和對話的成果，也是我們與首個本地夥伴香港當代文化中心及我們東道主香港政府之間的創意協作。是次合作亦進一步引證全球都覺察到大家急需栽培每個人的創意及轉變潛能以確保世界和人類的未來。
因此本高峰會提出了革新的方法回應我們時代的一些挑戰。我們使用的「對話式」教學法借力於世界聯盟累積超過半世紀的知識，確保每位參加者的專業可獲注意及與別人交流，整合在實際和有效的建議中。不然的話，我們又怎可說服各範疇的公民社會參與執行適用於21世紀的範式？
確立範式當然需時。當中需要鼓起勇氣、設身處地為他人著想、激發想像以及互相支持，這其實正是有效藝術教育旨在培養的素養吧 – 在峰會上、人生中這些素養會受考驗和磨練。我希望世界創意高峰會和你通過網上公開論壇互相學習－我們聆聽你的經驗和意見，而你則把世界創意高峰會學到的點滴發揮在類似的項目和你的人脈中。
