CHEUNG Ping Kuen is now the Head of Liberal Arts Studies of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He has actively got involved in the local drama community since the 1970s and has written numerous cultural and theatre critiques. Being elected by the arts community, he has been appointed as member of Hong Kong Arts Development Council from 1996 and has been the Chairman of Drama Group/Committee ever since. He is also the Chairman of Arts Support Committee in this term (2005-07). Currently he is a member of the Committee on Performing Arts. He co-directs the 6th IDEA Congress held in July 2007.
SYNOPSIS
People in modern days are always terribly busy and, on the other hand, have some feelings of loneliness, frustration, weariness and even impotence. Many have admitted that this might be a global phenomenon of the last few decades and will be one of the acute threats to the 21st century. What really worries us is the fact that this kind of feelings even spread around our young generation in certain extent. Traditional formal education seems incapable to help. That is why drama and all sorts of drama education are so important nowadays.
To avoid being ‘pigeonholed’ as fragmented and stereotyped parts in this highly structured community, we need to gain, or regain, our real identity as genuine human being with a free spirit. Let us try all the interesting arts education. Get through the ‘hole’ and transform into a real ‘pigeon’! Drama education is the road to be a ‘pigeon’, with the process: Pictorialization, Imagination, Game, Edutaining, Observation and Newness. As a ‘pigeon’, we can share and communicate with others peacefully. We can enjoy our life. We can fly free – and this is the best way to gestate creativity.
張秉權博士
張秉權博士現為香港演藝學院人文學科系主任,70年代以來活躍於本地劇壇,經常發表戲劇與文化評論。1996年獲委任為香港藝術發展局的會員,至今出任戲劇小組主席,並為本年度的藝術支援委員會主席。他也是表演藝術委員會成員。2007年7月他將會聯辦第六屆IDEA大會。
簡介
現今人們都忙、盲、茫,而且蔓延至年輕一代。正規教育幫不了他們,因此各種戲劇教育變得重要。為避免被局限定型,我們需要以自由精神再三確認我們的真正身份。戲劇教育可幫助我們通過意境化、想像、遊戲、娛樂等互相溝通和孕育創意。
