Creativity and Multicultural Integration
Creativity is one of the most obvious characteristics of a human mind/function of brain. Its development starts during the first year of life in playful micro-events between parents and infants. In early interaction parents all over the world momentarily pretend things that are not true but fascinating. The door to the unlimited world of play and fantasy open up and new layers into creativity will grow. So, ability to be creative arises and matures through human relationships.
Parenthood and parenting are dependent on both cultural background of parents and cultural circumstances around family. The socialization goals of parents, care-givers and educators are tightly connected with cultural values, especially with the idea of a good/successful human being. Children are raised up by adults full of cultural beliefs and attitudes towards the future world.
In highly complex, knowledge based societies questions about socialization goals for children are increasing. In Western societies economical welfare and progress don't anymore prejudicially produce human well-being, mental problems among children and adolescents are increasing. The future of mankind is now dependent on multicultural integration and non-western countries will play an important role. Also art and arts education will have special tasks.
